“It was ok, price was high but it was derby weekend. If you had to walk to Oaklawn you could. Room was nice. Quality of bath products low, bring your own. ”

“It's hard to give an adequate star review for an older motor lodge as they will never be perfect and each is unique. But that's part of what contributes to the stay and what makes them a favorite to stay in when I travel. As far as an older motor lodge goes this is a really well kept property and I would definitely stay there again. “Very helpful staff at the front desk in the evening. Super clean room located near downtown and Oaklawn race track and casino.”

“We were put in a room with an adjoining room door and we could hear the neighbors noisy children and their loud mother like they were in our room. They went to bed late and were up early, so they really interfered with our sleep. We will never allow ourselves to be placed in a similar situation again. ”

“Beautiful lake views. Studio suite was equipped with everything we needed, parking was right at our room. Good value and will stay there again.”

“The hotel and room itself was clean. There was a damp smell in our room that I’m assuming came from the air conditioner. The ac also struggled to keep up—it was a mild weekend in April and we set the thermostat to 70, but it took quite a while to get down to 70. Beds were comfortable enough for us. The staff was always very friendly. The breakfast was not great, so much so that we went out for breakfast the second morning. Disappointing when “breakfast included” is one of the reasons you choose...

“What's to like.., well, the view is still there if you get a room overlooking the water. There's that and that's pretty much it. I am sure 25 or 30 years ago this was a fine hotel. I'm equally sure that was the last time it was actually cleaned and kept up. I'm not slamming the employees, who were friendly and polite. But there's only so much they can do. It's the owners/ managers that have cut so many corners to maximize profits I suppose. The cleaning staff only gives everything the once over....

“The Arlington was a beautiful historic building. The old architecture is stunning. The grand lobby and porches are breathtaking. The staff is very polite and welcoming. The rooms are a bit out of shape but overall it is a fantastic experience! Worth every penny. We will be back.”

“Checked in, went to my room. Looking for a plug in and moved the bed, and found dirty diapers used condoms and a bunch of trash. Very disgusting. ”

“Holes in walls. Room Smelled like smoke. TV didn’t work. There was a man screaming and cursing all night long next door. It finally ended at 5:40am when he left the hotel. No shampoo or conditioner.”

“Pleasantly surprised to see kitchen fully stocked. Our suite studio had a dishwasher and full size refrigerator. Space and organization is well thought out. The hotel appears to be recently renovated. Staff is friendly and helpful. We had a small issue with the fuse blowing out while using microwave, toaster and stovetop at the same time. This was easily fixed by flipping the switches in the fusebox located in our room. In overall, it was a comfortable stay!”
